Breaking Ground

On September 27 we broke ground at our retirement living development in Sherwood, with BHC’s Independent Chair, Eloise Atkinson and CEO, Stuart Lummis with the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Cr Graham Quirk.

Turning the first sod, Lord Mayor of Brisbane – Graham Quirk acknowledged BHC important work during the last 15 years housing thousands of disadvantaged Queenslanders, and the important role the Arbor development will play expanding retirement living choices for seniors in Brisbane.

Brisbane City Council’s retirement living incentives will support the development of an affordable, well located option for seniors to enter into retirement living at far below market rate.

Designed by Brisbane architectural firm Peddle Thorp, Arbor Sherwood will comprise 52 independent living one bedroom with multiple purpose room and two-bedroom units, due for completion September 2019.
